As part of celebrating the 51st Anniversary of Combat Wing No.21 at Taura AB, on Wednesday August 23 was held a firepower demonstration called Exercise Taura 2006, at the shooting alley near San Antonio de Playas, with participating units of Taura and Manta air bases.

IPMS Guayaquil was invited to witness this important event and could see in real combat situations, FAE aircrafts like the Mirage F.1, Kfir CE, Strikemaster Mk.89 and A-37B. Representing our organization went Jimmy Galvez and Juan Montesinos, finely attended and guided by Lt.Col. Carlos Rosero, Chief Commander of Taura Air Base and Lt.Col. Thomas Endara, Commanding Officer of the FAE Air Academy, based at Salinas.
