In
last October 13-14 the Ecuadorian Air Force
organized the Air Festival 2007 at Simon Bolivar Air
Base in Guayaquil, home of 22th Combat Air Wing. |
|
As every year, there was a massive presence of the
public, coming from almost every province in
Ecuador. They could see a static display of
commercial, private and military aircraft from the
air force, navy and army. The new addition this year
was a
Strikemaster Mk.83 from 23rd Air Wing, based
at Manta and painted in shiny black and bright
orange. This aircraft was recently acquired from the
Botswana Air Force, along with another similar
aircraft, presumably for spare parts. |
|
At the
festival, there was a parachute jump show,
ultra-light aircraft exhibition, the presentation of
the first Ecuadorian astronaut Ronnie Nader, tuned
exotic cars, classic cars and of course our plastic
scale model exhibition and XXII National Contest. |
