Our
XXII National Contest took place at
Simon Bolivar Air Base, Guayaquil and
between 13-14 October 2007 as part of
the Air Festival 2007, organized by the
Ecuadorian Air Force every year. |
|
18 participants from different regions
and Colombia took part and registered 78
models in 29 different categories. A lot
of technique improvement was noticeable,
compared with former years, and of very
special consideration was the impeccable
downed Bf.109E diorama from Carlos
Macias, who ended up with the Best in
Show Award. Also to mention was a
magnificent Leopard tank in the colors
of a famous local soccer team (in the
science fiction category and Contest
Subject) and Rafael Moran's Mirage
F.1JA. |

This year's Best Rookie Model Award went
to Claudio Massucco for his neatly
finished Marder
III and our member Samir Chedraui was
favored by the assisting public for his
Junkers J.52 diorama. |

|
The
judges team was lead by our President Jimmy Gálvez,
accompanied by
Christian Villacreses, Juan Montesinos and
Carlos Macias. This year we had Creative
Hobbies and Mi Ciudad magazine as sponsor of the
event. |
|
Once more we would like to thank the Ecuadorian
Air Force for their continuous support to our
organization and specially to Brig. Gen.
Leonardo Barreiro, COAD Commander and the staff
that made possible our presence in the show: Lt.
Col. Xvier Illescas, Cap. Vanesa Llerena, Cap.
Jose Moreno and Lt. Luis Armas. |
