Belly Fat After 40

February 2nd, 2010 by admin

Many of us will have heard the quote “Life begins at 40″ but do most of us think it’s true?In some ways life might be better once a person reached his forties. A person’s disposable income, for instance, might be much higher than it was when he was starting out, having to get on the property ladder, furnish his first home,  purchase a car - possibly taking out a loan to do so, along with all the other aspects of life that cost a lot of money.By the time a person is in his forties he is likely to be leading a more settled lifestyle, and can afford some of the luxuries in life, nice holidays, entertainment, socializing etc. and may even be coming up to the time when he no longer has a mortgage on his home to pay, his car is his own, and he’s got a regular income from his steady job.On the other hand I know a lot of people who would argue that life actually starts to go downhill at the age of 40. When their eyesight is no longer as sharp as it once was and they have to wear glasses. It’s the time for many that their blood pressure rises to higher levels than is normal and medication is needed in order to control the problem. When despite all their best efforts they start to put on weight. Belly fat increases. I know of one person now in his 40’s who is a builder. He’s very active in his job, up and down ladders, bending down, stretching, and generally getting a lot of exercise during the course of his work. He doesn’t over drink alcohol, doesn’t overeat, yet now in his forties he has quite a big stomach. What is it? Does the metabolism slow down as we get older? Exercise is one thing, but some suggest that up to 70% of our calories are burned off naturally through our metabolism. If our body isn’t functioning normally then maybe that’s one of the reasons we don’t lose weight like we might have done when we were younger. Some studies have concluded that even eating meat can be the cause of putting on weight and getting fat. Not necessarily because of the meat itself, but because of the farming methods used to rear cattle and other animals used for meat. As we get older if we have eaten meat all our lives obviously the more meat we will consume proportionate to our age. But it isn’t just the meat, it’s the link between antibiotically fed meat and the increasingly obese population. The antibiotics in the animals kill the bacteria so the animals get fat (meaning more profit for the farmer), but the antibiotics are not destroyed in cooking so they destroy the bacteria in the humans which results in us humans getting fat.In some ways yes life can begin at forty, but in so many other ways, particularly where our health is concerned, quite the opposite can be true.

New Tribe Missions

February 2nd, 2010 by admin

Chances are you have heard something about the New Tribes Missions but are still unsure just exactly what it is they do or how they help. Maybe you do know a little bit about them and now you want to get involved too. Read on to learn more about the ways New Tribe Mission is making a difference.

First, New Tribes Mission is an Evangelistic Christian Mission organization based out of Sanford, Florida. Right now there is nearly 3,300 missionaries working in 20 different nations. As you can see missionary is going above and beyond.

To further understand New Tribes Mission it is important to know what their personal purpose is: “Motivated by the love of Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, NTM exists to assist the ministry of the local church through the mobilizing, equipping, and coordinating of missionaries to evangelize unreached people groups, translate the Scriptures, and see indigenous New Testament churches established that truly glorify God.”  In short, is working the spread the word of God in remote places by building relationships, offering help, and teaching natives to write and read in their own language.

New Tribes Mission focuses on finding areas with no translation of the Bible. After such a  group has been found the mission quickly begins making contact by establishing relationships with the tribe. Soon after, professionally trained missionaries are sent to the tribe. While there they learn the language and culture of the natives. They also offer needed humanitarian aid. Over time the relationship grows, missionaries begin to translate the Bible into the native language. The overall goal of the New Tribes Missions is to set the ground for a completely functional church that is complete separate from the mission. Setting up a church will allow the locals to share the word beyond their tribe and to neighboring tribes as well.

More information and how to get involved with the New Tribe Missions can be found on line through their website at www.ntm.org. This page has a vast amount of information. You can share it with your church or small group to see how you can get involved with the great things they are doing.

Free is the Best Price

February 1st, 2010 by admin

One of the best ironies in the world of file sharing is that most P2P applications which allow for the piracy of other content are not free.  So the makers of the applications want to be paid to allow their customer base to share files for free.  In 2002 Ares was released and there are several sites out there where you can get an ares free download.  Its only fair and proper that someone developed an open source application that hold to the principle that information exchange should be free, and it should be free since the content is not scarce, but unlimited.  Yes, I’m sure there is some corporate executive trying to figure out how to charge for air at this very moment.

Once you get your ares free download you are on your way to a new experience in file sharing.  One of the best features of Ares is the lack of spyware, adware, and malware being bundled with the download.   Spyware and adware have long been one of the worst things about the most common file sharing applications.   Being free from adware and spyware is a great thing, but the uniqueness of Ares comes from the ability to instant message or open chat rooms with other users on the network, making Ares not only a file sharing app, but a social network as well.  When downloading video, even though Ares provides you will a preview feature, it’s nice to also be able to talk to someone who has actually downloaded the file already to determine quality.

Your ares free download may come from any of a number of popular websites that offer it, and you may even want to test all the versions that are available to see which ares free download works best with your system.   The only real drawback with Ares is that it is not available for OSX.  If you are running any version of Windows, all the way back to ME then you should be able to find a version of Ares that will work with your operating system.

Supposedly there are fewer users on Ares than on the other popular file sharing networks, so the downloads are supposed to be even that much faster.
